The 2020 Census is underway! As mandated by the U.S. Constitution, the census is a count conducted every 10 years of every person living in America. By now, the majority of U.S. households received an invitation to complete a simple questionnaire about who lives at your address on April 1, including children. Census data is critical for public services like healthcare clinics, emergency response preparedness and education programs.
Here are three ways you can get involved:

1. Respond to the 2020 Census online at 2020census.gov, by phone at 844.330.2020 (English) and 844.468.2020 (Spanish), or by mail. Phone lines are open every day, including weekends from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. You can call with questions or complete your census form by phone.

REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
Wednesday, April 22, 2020

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were council members Bennett, Christian, Holmes, Rupe and Rodgers. Others in attendance were City employee Brandon Trower, Jen Reed from the Times Republican, Rhonda Bennett, Nancy Buss with Hall Engineering and Eva Moore, City Clerk. Clint Housh was present, but seated in back of room. Present on the phone conference call was City Attorney Verle Norris, Deputy Clerk Laticia Stewart, and Desiree Grismore.

Nancy Buss addressed the council with updates on ongoing projects. Due to some resident complaints received by the city clerk, Nancy has reached out to the contractors and the contractors have been asked to make sure that the job sites are secure at all times. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
Monday, April 6, 2020

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were council members Rodgers, Rupe, Holmes, Christian and Bennett. Others in attendance were City Clerk Eva Moore, Jen Reed from the Times-Republican, and City Crew Lead Brandon Trower.

Nathan Bennett issued the oath of office to Eva Moore as City Clerk.

Bennett made the motion to approve Resolution 2020-16 removing Ann Stevens from all remaining bank accounts-Farmer’s Bank, Great Western Bank, and IPAIT, and adding Eva Moore to those accounts in her place. Rodgers seconded. Ayes- Rodgers, Rupe, Holmes, Christian and Bennett. Nays-none.

Wednesday, March 25, 2020

The public hearing for the preliminary 20/21 budget was called to order at 7:00 p.m by Mayor Moorman. Present were council members Bennett, Christian, Holmes, Rupe, and Rodgers. Also in attendance were Deputy Clerk – Laticia Stewart, Times Republican Representative – Jen Reed, City employee – Brandon Trower, and Nancy Buss from Hall Engineering.

The Deputy Clerk reported City Hall had not received any written or oral comments.

Holmes made the motion to come out of the public hearing. Bennett seconded. Ayes – Bennett, Christian, Holmes, Rupe, and Rodgers. Nays – none.

SPECIAL SESSION COUNCIL MEETING
REGARDING COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020

The council meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were Council Members Bennett, Christian, Holmes, Rupe, and Rodgers. Others in attendance were the City employees and Times Republican representative Jen Reed.

The foremost topic was preparedness for COVID-19. Bennett suggested closing City Hall to the public until further notice. Christian reported she spoke with Emergency Management Director, Bill Byrns, who recommended the same thing. The council also discussed the office workers use gloves and disinfectant while handling mail and drop box payments. It was also suggested to let mail and payments set for 24 hours to allow any possible trace of the virus die.

Thursday, March 5, 2020

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Nathan Bennett. Present were council members Christian, Holmes, Rodgers and Rupe. Others in attendance were Deputy Clerk in Training Eva Moore, Jen Reed from the Times-Republican, City Crew Lead Brandon Trower, Dan Sales with Cook Insurance, Brian Draper with the Corydon Golf Club, Alyssa Harders with Summer on the Square/Corydon Farmer’s Market and Cassie Shields from the Flower Pot.

Dan Sales presented the council with the renewal for property/casualty/liability insurance for 20/21, and stated that a premium increase has occurred and also explained changes to the policy this year. The city received a dividend check for $5516.49.

SPECIAL SESSION COUNCIL MEETING
Saturday, February 22, 2020

The special session council meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Nathan Bennett at 9:00 a.m. Present were council members Rodgers, Christian, Rupe, and Holmes. Others in attendance were city crew member Brandon Trower and Rhonda Bennett from the Times Republican.

The council discussed employee discipline. Rupe made a motion to accept the terms of employee discipline as recommended by the Mayor. Holmes seconded. Ayes-Rodgers, Christian, Rupe, Holmes, and Bennett.

Holmes made the motion to approve the minutes from the February 6th meeting, but to strike through the bank signature section. Rodgers seconded. Ayes- Rodgers, Christian, Rupe, Holmes, and Bennett.

FEBRUARY 19, 2020

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Nathan Bennett. Present were council members Christian, Holmes, Rodgers, and Rupe. Others in attendance were Deputy Clerk in Training Eva Moore, Glenn Williamson, Jen Reed from the Times-Republican, and the Randy Sharp family.
Randy Sharp addressed the council about animal control issues. The council agreed to look into what can be done.
The condition of the streets was brought up. Bennett stated that the city has a ten year plan for street repairs. Rodgers stated that the city only has three employees to repair streets and asked for patience during the winter weather.

Mayor Pro-tem Nathan Bennett called to order the Public Hearing Regarding Proposed Property Tax Levy for FY-2021. Present were Council Members Christian, Holmes and Rodgers. Mayor Moorman and Council Member Rupe were absent. Others present were Fire Chief Wallace, Sheriff’s Deputy Jim Wiltamuth, Rhonda Bennett from the Times-Republican and Cheryl Mastin. Mastin reported that the notice of the Proposed Property Tax Levy for FY-2021 had been published and posted as required. As of the meeting time, City Hall had received neither oral nor written comments concerning said levy.
