SEPTEMBER 7, 2017

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Rodney Parham. Present were Council Members Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Others in attendance were Desireˊ Grismore, Jocelyn Roe, Rhonda Bennett, local newspaper representatives, Police Chief Allen Fry and the City clerk.

Grismore reported on attendance at the pool this season, and advised the Council that the facility/guards met the Ellis & Assoc. standards for the first two audits and excelled on the third audit.

Roe asked the Council to consider an increase in the hourly wage for returning concession workers next year.

Moorman made the motion to approve Resolution 2017-42, a resolution amending Section X 10.6 of the City of Corydon Personnel Policy regarding overtime. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Nays-none. Employees will have the option of being paid for overtime or accruing comp time, both at a rate of time and a half.

Bennett made the motion to approve the 2016/2017 Annual Financial Report as presented. Holmes seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Nays-none.

Jaeckel made the motion to approve the renewal of the liquor license for Hy-Vee. Bennett seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Nays-none.

Jaeckel made the motion to approve the term renewals for Harriett Gustafson and Glenn Williamson to the LeCompte Memorial Library Board. VanderSluis seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Nays-none.

Moorman presented pictures of the tree growth on the dam at the Corydon Lake Park. The Council agreed to have the City crew start removing the trees after the cold planner is returned.

The Council discussed advertising for bids for the property at 205 E. Moore.

Moorman updated the Council on activity at the WRD Landfill and advised of the upcoming meeting.

Moorman made the motion to approve the minutes and treasurer’s report. Bennett seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Nays-none.

VanderSluis made the motion to approve the unpaid and prepaid bills. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and VanderSluis. Nays-none.

The Council approved the October 18th training for the clerk and utility billing clerk. City Hall will be closed that day.

The City clerk reported that Alley would like to have the fencing project set back to October.

The police chief reported on the progress of the new police department vehicle.

The Mayor reported that the Fire Chief was at Fire Convention.

The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
