Having met all the requirements, Moorman made the motion to approve Resolution 2018-22, regarding the APPLICATION FOR TAX ABATEMENT UNDER THE CITY OF CORYDON’S URBAN REVITILIZATION PLAN for Burton and Linda Prunty for the property at 203 W. Depot Street. Holmes seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Bennett made the motion to approve Resolution 2018-23, a resolution approving corporate sponsorship of five (5) employees at the Prairie Trails Wellness Center at the cost of $750. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Moorman made the motion to approve the renewal of the tobacco licenses for Casey’s, Hy-Vee, Dollar General, and Gasland Express. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Jaeckel made the motion to consider legal action for the addition to building at 609 N. East Street pending consultation with the City’s legal counsel. Bennett seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Mayor Parham reported several compliments given to the City crew for the work being done on the streets.

Moorman reported a complaint regarding grass being blown into the street at the bus barn.

Moorman also reported a complaint from a citizen regarding a monument at the Corydon Cemetery being knocked loose from the base.

Bennett made the motion to approve the minutes and treasurers report. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Bennett made the motion to approve the unpaid and prepaid bills. Rupe seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

The clerk reported that the City’s insurance will cover only the repairs to the fire hydrant at the corner of Washington & Jackson and will not cover the expenses incurred from the four water main breaks. Damages and breaks were caused by the fire hydrant being run over by a pickup/trailer.

The Council looked over a quote from Redyns Masonry for the south wall of the library building. After discussion, the council agreed that more details are needed, and a face to face meeting with Mr. Snyder would be beneficial. Bennett will call Mr. Snyder tomorrow.

The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, June 20th at 7:00 p.m. following the public hearing.
