MAY 3, 2018

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Rodney Parham. Present were Council Members Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Others in attendance were Police officer Tyler Jeffrey, Fire Chief Bryan Wallace, City crew member Brandon Trower, newspaper representatives and the City clerk.

Mike Barker was on the agenda, but could not make the meeting as planned.

Jaeckel made the motion to approve the Home Rule 50th Anniversary Proclamation. Moorman seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Bennett made the motion to approve Resolution 2018-16, a resolution approving the 2017/2018 preliminary budget amendment and setting a public hearing for 7:00 p.m. on May 23rd. Holmes seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Moorman made the motion to approve Resolution 2018-17, a resolution approving the change in employment, status, and the benefits thereof for Laticia Stewart. Rupe seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Jaeckel made the motion to approve Resolution 2018-18, a resolution reducing the amount owed by the Corydon Golf Club by $6,000, leaving a balance due of $10,016.26 for the 2014 season. Bennett seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Jaeckel made the motion to approve the application from LaBota Mexican Restaurant for a liquor license for outside service. Rupe seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Mayor Parham reported that a decision from the IDNR regarding the wastewater facility has been delayed another two weeks. Another telephone conference will be held at that time.

Council Member Bennett will follow up on a quote for the Library wall.

Moorman made the motion to approve the minutes and treasurer’s report as presented. Holmes seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Jaeckel made the motion to allow the unpaid and prepaid bills. Bennett seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

The clerk reported that the Pinwheel Run has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 23rd. Moorman made the motion to approve the date change. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Trower presented the Council with sketches and part lists for the four upcoming water projects.

Fire Chief Wallace reported another instance of being called to an out of control CRP burn that was set by an independent contractor.

The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. after the public hearing regarding the budget amendment.
