MARCH 21, 2018

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Rodney Parham. Present were Council Members Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Others in attendance were Bill and Nancy Buss from Hall Engineering, Martha Comfort from Wayne County Child and Family Abuse Council, Police Chief Allen Fry, Fire Chief Bryan Wallace, newspaper representatives and the City clerk.

Martha Comfort from the Wayne County Child and Family Abuse Council, asked the Council to consider her proposal to hold a 5K run on Saturday, April 28th. Comfort stated that there would be no charge for participants, and a “tot trot” is also planned. Holmes made the motion allow the 5K run on Saturday, April 28th. Rupe seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Nancy Buss, Hall Engineering, updated the Council on the progress of gathering information/data to submit to the IDNR for the Bio2 Solution sewer system. A meeting was set for April 11th at 6:00 p.m. to review the data and to view a presentation on the Bio2 system in Otterville, Missouri. Buss and Mayor Parham will meet Monday, March 26th to discuss the water building.

Bennett made the motion to approve the February financial report from LeCompte Memorial Library as presented. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Moorman made the motion to approve the 2017 Airport report as presented. Jaeckel seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

Moorman reported several inquiries regarding the date for spring clean up. No date has been set yet.

Rupe reported several compliments given to the City crew for cleaning up a tree that fell across a street last week.

Mayor Parham advised that the support wall on the second floor of the library building will be started this week.

Rupe made the motion to approve the minutes of previous meeting and the clerk’s report. Moorman seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes, Bennett and Rupe. Nays-none.

The City clerk advised the Council that there would be two new Ordinances in the packet for the next meeting.

The topic of the monthly safety meeting was “Company Nurse Procedures.”

Fire Chief Wallace reported a donation of a battery from East Penn. The fire department has a pickup loaned out to the Seymour fire department. The annual fireman’s supper is this Saturday, March 24th at 5:00 p.m.

The next regular meeting will be Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
