2.21.18 – Council Meeting Minutes
FEBRUARY 21, 2018
The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Rodney Parham. Present were Council Members Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes and Bennett. Council Member Rupe was absent. Others in attendance were Karen Brumley-President of the Library Board, Police Chief Allen Fry, Rhonda Bennett and the City clerk.
Karen Brumley asked the Council for direction in regards to raising funds for library building repairs. Mayor Parham advised Brumley that work on the building cannot be started until notification has been received regarding pending grant applications. Brumley asked that barricades be placed on the south side of the library to stop foot traffic in that area. Barricades will be put in place this week.
Jaeckel made the motion to approve Resolution 2018-11, a resolution approving the preliminary budget for 18/19 and to set a public hearing for March 8th at 7:00 p.m. Moorman seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes and Bennett. Nays-none.
Jaeckel made the motion to approve the monthly financial report from LeCompte Memorial Library as presented. Bennett seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes and Bennett. Nays-none.
Holmes reported meeting with Municipal Supply to work on a list of parts that will be needed for the S. DeKalb water project. He also met with a contractor for ideas on how to proceed with construction.
Moorman noted that it looks like the brine trailer needs more pressure. The option of using a larger pump or two small pumps was discussed.
Moorman made the motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting and the clerk’s report. Holmes seconded. Ayes-Jaeckel, Moorman, Holmes and Bennett. Nays-none.
The clerk reported a request from a resident regarding the removal of a tree in the cemetery. A stone needs reset, and the monument company will not work on the stone until the tree is removed.
Police Chief Fry reported that the replacement decal for the police vehicle should be here sometime next week.
Fire Chief Wallace reported three (3) calls last month. Wallace did not get an application submitted for the FEMA as he intended.
The next regular meeting will be Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
